After our first few nights at Suomenlinna and our initial orientation to Helsinki, we will move to our more permanent home in the Töölö District of Helsinki. This is an ideal location adjacent to the city center and its commercial, government, and cultural institutions. It is accessible to everything we will want, even a beach.
We will be staying the Töölön Tornit (Towers
of Töölö), former university and medical staff dormitories. The
rooms are set up like apartments and give a good idea of Finnish living.
A healthy and complete breakfast is provided, there is a laundry room, and sauna hours are
every evening from 18-20:00. While here this January, I have been living
on the 6th floor of Tower B.
