Interior Architecture: Spiral Staircases


One of the things that I enjoyed encountering and photographing are spiral staircases.  I have used more in 2 weeks here in Helsinki than I have in two years in Wisconsin.  They are a compact way of walking between floors, and are found in buildings from across all architectural styles.  Here are spiral staircases from the Music Hall of Fame (above) and, in order below, 
the Towers of Töölö (where we are staying), Kiasma - The Museum of Contemporary Art, and Helsinki's iconic Stockmann department store.
